The calculation is based on an average of 2 searches per day for each employee, 240 working days in a year and, as our current data shows, an average of 50 search queries to fund the planting of a tree.

Football pitch calculation: On average we plant 1,300 trees per hectare. One hectare corresponds to approx. 1.4 football pitches.

Captured CO₂ calculation: We calculate that on average each tree we plant captures approx. 12.5 kg of CO₂ per year, which is the scientific value for a German beech tree (cf. https://www.wildes-bayern.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/cUniversitaet_Muenster_CO2-Bindung-Baeume.pdf). However, in reality this amount does vary considerably depending on the project, tree species planted and long-term ability of the trees to capture carbon.

Breathing Days calculation: We calculate on the basis of an average of oxygen demand of 0,84kg O₂ per person for each day.
